NEW EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES INSTRUCTOR COURSE
This course will run for THREE DAYS, you are required to attend the full three days, NO EXCEPTIONS
Course Cost is $150.00
You must be a currently certified EMS provider
If You DO NOT SHOW UP for the course you will NOT BE REFUNDED
You will NOT BE ALLOWED to ATTEND FUTURE COURSES if YOU OWE FOR a CANCELLATION or NO SHOW.
Upon completion of this course and all requirements you will be a certified State of Utah EMS Instructor. You will be allowed to instruct and pass off skills up to your level of certification
You are required to submit the following by fax 801-274-0738 or email firstname.lastname@example.org before you can be certified.
1. Three Letters of Recomendation
2. Verification of Thirty Hours (30) of Patient Care in the Twelve Months Prior to the Course
3. Verification of Fifteen Hours (15) of Instructor Time
#'s 2 and 3 can be included in letters of recommendation

This course will teach the experienced EMS provider principles of instructional design, developing teaching strategies, conducting educational sessions and evaluation of learning activities.
Students are asked to purchase the following textbook in either a print or electronic format as preparation for the course. Foundations of Education: An EMS Approach (2nd Edition), published by the NAEMT. The focus of the course will be on applying principles read in the textbook to an existing learning activity. Therefore reading the text prior to the course is required.
The course is 20 hours in length, 2½ days. Participants should bring a 10 minute EMS related lesson with all necessary materials and be prepared to teach their lesson twice. During the course, participants will evaluate and restructure their lesson based on discussion and work group sessions.
Additional details and preparatory assignments will be emailed to registered participants and are required to be completed prior to attending the class.
